Keeping it Real | What We Wore
This month’s Keeping it Real post is all about What We Wore. I can’t say this reflects what we wear on a regular basis but that’s not the point of Keeping it Real. We pick something at random and quickly snap a photo so you can see the day to day us, not just our “post perfect” side, and what we wore definitely wasn’t social media ready!
What We Wore
Casual is how we’d describe ourselves and that includes our clothing. We like to be comfortable. As moms, we juggle so much. We have enough things irritating us through out the day and clothing shouldn’t be one of them. While there are plenty of stylish ways to rock this look, today was not that day for us. Let’s check out what we wore!
It is killing me that my living room and kitchen are clean but our Keeping it Real post this time was my outfit. I had cute clothes on ALL day but Monday nights are kids karate nights and Spring means it’s light enough outside that I can get a quick run in during karate.
I love running! This winter I decided to skip it due to cold weather because every winter I get something in my chest that just kills me. However, not running outside led to me gaining weight. I tried working out inside but it just didn’t happen as much as it needed to. So now I gotta get the extra weight off. Back to running!
This explains my outfit: workout capris, two sports bras, a tank top and my pig tails (because I gotta have those when I run). This picture was taken at almost 10 at night. I had been up since 5:45 and it was my second workout of the day. Let’s just say I slept GREAT after this.
Well at least Katie has an excuse for her outfit. What’s my excuse? Being lazy! That’s what. Monday’s are stay home and get shit done day. I work, do laundry, and clean out the fridge so it’s ready for grocery shopping and meal prepping on Tues.
I go outside to drive my kid to and from school but I never leave the car. Also, I walk the dogs. My apartment complex is full of college kids so I’m definitely not the worst/weirdest dressed one out walking my dogs in sweats.
I’m not saying I don’t get dressed every Monday but I’d say there’s a good 80% chance if you see me on a Monday I’ll be wearing whatever I slept in the night before. My goal isn’t to change this but to get cuter stuff to sleep in so I look better when I don’t change. Haha!
This stunning outfit is the result of a lot of things. My go-to items are jeans and my Converse sneakers. They have been my go-to items since middle school.
I’m just not a fancy girl when it comes to my day-to-day outfits. I rarely wear jewelry besides my wedding ring and occasionally earrings. Jewelry might be thrown on for church or another occasion where a nicer outfit will be worn.
I worked all day so my work smock was traded for a t-shirt and hoodie to run some errands. The pre-set Keeping it Real photo time was right as I walked in the door from running those errands and since we’re Keeping it Real I took the photo as is. I don’t spend a lot on clothes, so most of my stuff comes from Target, Kohls, or Maurice’s.
How about you? If we were to randomly knock on your door and snap a quick pic when you answered, what would your outfit look like? Leave a description in the comments below!
