Natural DIY Eye makeup Remover

I use waterproof mascara.  I can NOT use a regular kind.  It HAS to be waterproof.  Even the waterproof starts to come off of my face if the day is long enough.

Because of this, my eye makeup remover has to be really good or I’m scrubbing my eyes for way too long which can really damage my lids and lashes. So, I like to make my own DIY eye makeup remover.  It’s super easy and only has 4 ingredients and one isn’t even necessary.

How to Make Your Own Eye Makeup Remover

  1. Mix coconut oil and aloe vera gel until combined.
  2. Then add in the vitamin E oil and 3 drops of lavender, if you are adding it.
  3. Annnnnnnnnnd, you’re done! That’s it.

Store your homemade makeup remover in an air tight jar. I leave it in a cupboard in my bathroom. This makes a small amount so you don’t have to worry about it spoiling before you can use it up.

This may separate.  Coconut oil melts when it gets hot, so depending on how warm your house is, your homemade makeup remover might separate.  If you just give it a little mix it will still work.

How To Use Homemade Eye Makeup Remover

When it comes time to take your makeup off, just put a dab on a cotton ball, or on one of the reusable crochet scrubbies from our earlier post, and gently rub on your eyes to get your make up off.

Sometimes I need to reapply a little makeup remover on the cotton ball.  It just depends on how much mascara I put on that day.  Once my eye make up is off, I rub my whole face with our Homemade Lemon & Lavender Astringent, eye area too, to help get the excess eye make up remover off. But because this is made with natural, skin happy ingredients, I don’t worry too much if a bit is left on my face.

I love having a medicine cabinet full of home made beauty products so this DIY Eye Makeup Removers is a must! What are your favorite beauty products you like to DIY. We’d love to hear about them in the comments.
